It always seems strange to me that conservatives holler and moan about how the government takes on too much power and crawls all over the American people. When conservatives don't like the peoples' point of view they issue statements like "Iran will wear the American people down" When VP Cheney was told that a vast majority of Americans don't support the iraqi war, he replied,"So?"
Nobody is warn down. This war was not winnable from day one.
May I remind you that when the Soviet Union sent missiles to be placed in Cuba, Pres. Kennedy as ready to go to WW III over the issue. Iran does not like our presence in their area either and so they do what they can to make that clear.
Conservative leaders need to remember who they serve. When the people say NO to Vietnam or Iraq, or wherever, then that is the way it is - pull the troops out. If the conservatives don't like it, SO?

I like your articles. I totally agree with you, Bush is not only in a weak position he is also in a tough position. However ... ... ... I dont think that matters to him though. I think if he had another term, he might have gone for war against Iran. Thank GOD this is his last year. I am also worried John McCain - if he gets the oval office he is no better than Bush and he might actually go against Iran! They are very disconnected from American people.
