Bro. Howard,
Do I detect you are quitting? I would rather you be a broken record touting the truth than to EVER quit!
I want my children and grandchildren, now 3 in number, to live in this GREAT country called the U.S.A. I don't want them to live with socialism!
Keep fighting and if people think you are a broken record, TURN UP THE VOLUME! Then maybe they will get the message. PEACE!

Jerry and DRM,
I hate to sound like a broken record, but the horse is already out of the stall, cat is out of the bag, whatever that expression is! Those Baby Boomers you refer to work mostly for the government and I don't they are going to stand up and pit themselves out of a job. America's problems are becoming so severe that the current economic crisis may not be the first (and certainly not the only)problem we have to solve. People are killing each other at a more alarming rate than usual. Our leaders (to whit:Mrs. Clinton in Mexico) are admitting that much of the war now occurring in Mexico is the responsibility of American drug consumers and American weapons suppliers.Until we attack and change what is fundamentally wrong with this country, that is the structure of the family, controlling immigration, reforming education (constantly discussed but never achieved) and dealing with a society which drives people to drug abuse and personal failure, we are not going to be able to solve these problems of personal responsibility. Hence, the crimes which have led to the current economic downfall.
Really bad things which have happened in America over the past 50 years or so have not been gotten over -although some people would like to think they have. Viet nam is not forgotten, the assassination of JFK, Martin L. King and RFK linger still. People may not talk about it, but these events weigh on American minds and make us question our worth. And the wars go on - they never end, and they don't seem to really help us either.
I too wanted change. It is early (I keep saying), but the change I hoped for isn't looking too good. Bring the boys and girls home, take out N.Korea's rocket systems, seek peace with Cuba and Iran. Think outside the box for a change.
Oh well I prattle on and on. It won't happen.
Business as usual if we just had the business.
See ya,
Bro. Howard

Jerry,
This article made me cry. I remember as a kid I used to mow lawns, baby sit, work in my dad's factory sweeping and cleaning and pick walnuts from the trees of a sweet old lady who lived the next street over. I saved enough money in a few years to buy my own 12 gauge shotgun!
I also saved enough money to pay for most of my first new car at 18. My father helped me with the balance while I continued to work and attend school.
Work is a GREAT ethic. Work keeps the mind alert, the body healthy and the soul filled with compassion.
Too bad so many people choose to be lazy and so few people, namely politicians, choose to keep those same people lazy while hard working tax payers foot the bills. It is time for the Baby Boomers to stand up, fight against this tyranny, the Liberal and political invaders of our Constitution and hit the reset button so succeeding generations might prosper with a similar Jamestown tradition of rugged individualism.
